18. What two types are the airfield divided on by a functioning under loading?

Rigid and nonrigid.

Rigid pavements are carried out as the rectangular plates adjaning to each other executed of the cement concrete and can be operated on a band. These plates distribute loading from plane to significant area of the earth foundation.

Nonrigid pavements are asphalt concrete; also processed by binolng material. Nonrigid pavements more poorly resist to a bend and basically work on vertical compression and shift.

20. What is SPRS, it’s advantages?

Essence of single-point refuelling system consist in that, fuel from tanks with the help of pumps on pipelines moves directly to places of refuelling in necessary amount. Thus fuel does not contact with an environment that excludes its contamination. Besides in comparison with refuellers single point refuelling system has such advantages:

1. The efforts of fuel supply to places of refuelling with application of single point refuelling system in 2 times less, than at application of refueller (at application of refueller the fuel is pumped in the tank, and then it is pumped over in the aircraft).

2. Transportation of fuel by pipelines is more economic.

3. At application of single point refuelling system the quantity of the personnel (in a storehouse) is reduced.

4. Quality of ground service of the aircraft increases owing to reduction of quantity of large-sized vehicles which move near the aircraft.

5. There is no danger of collision of the aircraft with explosive large-sized refuellers.

6. Owing to absence of the tank with fuel on a parking area of the aircraft the fire safety raises.

7. Process of refuelling is more automated.

8. Working conditions are improved at refuelling. Fuel from the reservoir to fuel tanks of the aircraft is in the closed tight volume.

9. The production cycle of refuelling is reduced in several times (Refueller at duration of refuelling of 25-30 minutes. should carry out 2 more hours preliminary operations - see the schedule of work).

21. What is obligatory list of SPRS equipment?

To the obligatory list of equipment of SPRS is the following:

- Tanks for fuel;

- Pump station;

- Filtration point;

- The pipeline with system of the shut-off and regulating accessories;

- Means of automatic control, management and the signal system;

- hydrant columns;

- The refueling unit of stationary type or mobile (more often).

  1. List the ways for refueling time decreasing?

The basic and most long operation on ground service of the plane is refuelling by aviation fuel. This problem can be solved by two ways:

1) Simultaneous performance of technological operations at ground service of the plane. Having united planting of passengers onboard the aircraft and refuelling it is possible to reduce time essentially, but there is a safety issue which is regulated by corresponding rules and legislative norms.

2) Time reduction of a staying the aircraft on the ground due to improvement or introduction of new, more effective technical resources.

23. Functions of independent structural departments of regional international airport (RIA).

Independent structural departments are:

  • Operational area of communication and radio engineering equipment;

  • Quality department (QD);

  • Regional inspectorate of flight safety (RIFS);

  • Labor protection service (SLP);

  • Civil defense department (CDD);

  • Accounting and finance department (AFD).

Main functions of listed departments are following:

Operational area of communication and radio engineering equipment provides ensuring of aircraft flight safety and supply of production activity of an airport with radio and communication equipment, technical maintenance of these facilities, and action on improvement of flight safety and air traffic control.

Quality department provides development and introduction of new technologies of qualitative handling of passengers, improves the efficiency and quality of airport operation.

Regional inspectorate on flight safety is a body of “State Aviation Debt” of Ukraine on flight safety supervision.

Regional inspectorate on flight safety is authorized to carry out supervisory and organizational activities, issuing of directives, implementation of which is necessary, inspection orders and other activities, directed on flight safety support, namely:

  • Flight safety state supervision;

  • Supervision over technical state and operation of airfields and aircraft;

  • Activities for preventing of air crash, aviation incident and other violations, which influences the flight safety;

  • Supervision over development and implementation of activities directed on preventing of air crashes and other violations related with flight safety;

  • Participation in development of documents, those regulate an activity of an operating enterprise if its executives don’t comply or can’t comply certificate requirements;

  • Accounting of violations which create hazards at the airport;

  • Development of preventive actions, recommendations and proposals on flight safety support together with other departments;

  • Participation in air crash investigation, aviation incidents related with flight safety, investigation data elaboration;

  • Daily supervision over airport and landing systems availability by I and II categories.

Accounting and finance department provides account and management of finance and creadit activity of an airport, employees salary payment, cooperation with governmental finance bodies, tax inspectorate etc.
