Portrait in the literature a means of artistic characteristics, consisting in that the writer reveals the typical character of his heroes and expresses his ideological attitude towards them through the appearance of heroes: their figures, faces, clothes, movements, gestures and manners. It is particularly interesting to analyze the portrait in the works of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. Brings together these authors primarily historical epoch. In addition, in Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, the focus is man, his psychology, his inner world, and at the same time the portraits in the works of Dostoevsky and Tolstoy largely different. Consider an image portrait of the hero in the novel "Anna Karenina". Of L.N.Tolstoy and "Crime and Punishment" of F.Dostoyevsky. Let's start with technique of the portrait. Portraits of Dostoevsky motionless, they resemble paintings, which can be seen in art galleries. Here are some examples: "... he was exceptionally handsome, with beautiful dark eyes, taller than middle, thin and slender" (Raskolnikov). In Tolstoy quite differently. Physical description of the characters is given individual touches, as if passing to the description of actions and behavior of the characters. First portrait with which we meet in the novel - this image of Prince Stepan Arkadyevitch Oblonsky. Details of this portrait scattered the pages of the first three chapters. Tolstoy begins with a description of the figure of the hero just a few words. But the description is given in the movement: "He turned over his stout, well-groomed body ..." (A Dostoevsky probably would have said: "It was a complete, well-groomed man.")

60. The aspects of a literary work: nature and landscape. Give your examples.

LANDSCAPE - the depiction of nature in literature and painting, otherwise - the image of nature in artistic work (the word comes from French “pays” – country, area). For instants nature in the literary work of Turgenev “Fathers and children” carry with itself alive image. In the initial exposition of the novel landscape depicting poverty, predetermines theme of the whole work, leads to the idea of having to change those orders that gave rise to such neglect. Even the confrontation of dreary "white ghost", endless winter " with its red-letter day" has already been a predestination of conflict, a clash of two views, a clash between "fathers" and "children", generational change. But then the picture of spring awakening the nature brings a light a novel, a cheerful note of hope for the upgrade. Closely connecting the nature with the mental state of the characters, Turgenev gives psychological function to landscape. Nature in the novel divides on animate and inanimate, natural to man and not. Therefore, the description of the "glorious, fresh morning" before the duel indicates that all human life in vain before the majesty and beauty of the eternal nature. Duel itself seems in comparison to this morning "eco stupidity." Last landscape - it is "Requiem" by Bazarov. Lyrical sadness and mournful reflections filled the entire description of the rural cemetery where buried Bazarov. This landscape is philosophical in nature. The author thinks about eternal life and eternal nature, which gives peace. Landscape in the novel not only the background, but philosophical symbol, an example of true life.
