47. Division of literature on literary types.

TYPE is the most general and historically stable division of literature, based on different approaches to the picture the main forms of human activity. Literary type - a group of literary works, united unity genre features. Epic - kind of literature that reflects a person's life and the events occurring to him, as close to reality. Lyrics - kind of literature that reflects life through the personal experiences of the person, his thoughts and feelings. Characteristic feature - the poetic speech, rhythm, small size. Drama - kind of literature that reflects life in action (actions and experiences) people. Designed to perform on stage. Lyrics -Image of experiences and reflections the lyrical hero (lyrics, song, message, ode), Epic -portrayal of events (novel, novella,short story), Drama - Image of action (comedy, tragedy, drama). With the several other accents, but also from the narrative Aristotle tried to solve the problem of literary type. According to his “Poetics”, one can narrate something separate from himself (epic), directly from himself (lyrics), or give the right of the narrative to the heroes (drama). Hegel - the subject of the image: - epics (an event), - lyrics (the mental state), - drama - action.

49. Genesis of literary types.

From the point of view of the theory of origin of literary types, extended Veselovsky in the work " Historical Poetics ," literary types emerged from the ritual chorus of primitive peoples . 50. The main theories of literary types.

The first attempts to give a theoretical justification of the genus itself felt in the ancient doctrine of mimesis (imitation). Plato in the "State“ came to the conclusion that poetry is of three kinds, depending on what, how and by what means it imitates. In other words, the generic division of fiction based on the subject, the means and methods of imitation. Poet can also write his work as exchange of speeches of heroes without using his words. This is a property of drama. Poet can connect the words with the words of strangers which belong to the heroes. This is epic. Somewhat simplifying the Hegelian terminology, we can say that objectivity lies at the heart of the epic, that is, interest to the world by itself, external towards the author events. At the heart of the lyrics – interest to the inner world of the individual (especially the author), that is subjectivity. Belinsky article "The division poetry into genera and species" (1841), in "Notes of the Fatherland" - coincides with the Hegelian concept, but not drawn to Homer and to the contemporary literature (Pushkin, Gogol, etc.). In the beginning - Hegel's scheme, in the end - mixing violation scheme.
