There are certain activities and hobbies that give us immense pleasure and can even make us forget the tensions of everyday life. Hobbies, in fact, add some colour to our monotonous lives. Listening to music is probably one of the most common hobbies and interests. There are very few people in the world who don’t enjoy music. When you are tired after a long day at work, only music can transport you to the world of serenity and tranquility. The best way to acquire wisdom is by cultivating the habit of reading books. A good book can help us to understand this world better. Knowing how to play a musical instrument not only gives us a talent but also keeps away from bad habits. Writing a diary is another habit which many people in the world have. It is also a very good hobby; it helps us to synchronize our thoughts. The internet is magic as a hobby. You can date online, download music and play the best games. Thousands of people across the world have the habit of collecting stamps and coins. Some people enjoy knitting, fishing, watching cartoons, collection different items, travelling and exploring new places. There are innumerable hobbies and interests to choose from.

AT THE ZOO*

A zoo is a place where you keep and show animals. Adults and children all over the world like visiting zoos. Almost every large city in the world and lots of smaller towns have zoos. They have gardens and paths leading from one area to another. Some zoos have special areas where visitors can feed or even touch animals. Every zoo keeps different animals. Many large zoos keep mammals, birds, reptiles and fish from all over the world in separate areas. Zoos perform many functions. Visitors can have fun and get information. Zoos also help to save wildlife. Some of the world’s animals are in danger of becoming extinct and zoos give them a place to survive. I believe that without zoos many of us would never have the opportunity to see for ourselves what a tiger or lion really look like. Children usually are fascinated by the zoo and how animals live there. Zoos teach preschoolers to understand life of animals in a better way. When you take children to the zoo, you should look for learning opportunities during and after your visit: there are lots of books you can read about zoo animals, you can also make masks of monkeys, tigers, elephants and play with your children, or learn poems and songs about wild animals. As for me, zoo is the place where you can both teach and entertain your children.
