Настоящее учебное пособие предназначено для студентов 2-3 курсов институтов в рамках изучения страноведения США и России, а также практике перевода и домашнего чтения. Целью настоящего учебного пособия является быстро и эффективно расширить и углубить знания студентов по истории родной страны и страны изучаемого языка, совершенствование навыков чтения и перевода текстов страноведческого характера, развитию навыков неподготовленной устной и письменной речи.
Учебное пособие также может быть использовано для учащихся старших классов средней школы, абитуриентов всех вузов, студентов вузов, где требуется изучение английского языка. Пособие может также быть использовано лицами, изучающими английский язык самостоятельно.

Preface
This English workbook provides students and teachers of English with a good opportunity to integrate English training and enhancement with the study of the history of the Russian Federation and the United States. The content of this workbook assists students to learn about important events and policies of these countries as well as improves their fluency in English.
This workbook encourages students to think logically and independently about some of important events that actually helped to develop American and Russian nations to what they are now. At the same as the history sometimes looks very much alike in different countries, there may be some drawn parallels and made comparisons with events of a local country as well.
Each part constructed in exercises designed to enlarge and develop vocabulary knowledge, and also gives an opportunity to have a great deal in listening and reading practice and speaking fluency in English. As the studies of the past development help people to understand to better extend modern situation, this workbook is also believed will assist in better handling of existing problems for students and develop them up to high standard professionals. Structure of the workbook encourages the students to engage them in real life communications and problem solving activities.
