In 1476 he went to Portugal and asked the King for money.
The King said, 'No! Then he went to Spain.
In Spain King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella gave him men,
money, and three ships. The ships were called the Santa Maria,
the Nina and the Pinta.
On 3rd August 1492 he sailed from Palos in Spain.
He stopped in the Canary Islands . Then he sailed across the Atlantic.
He landed in the Bahamas on I2th October 1432.
He thought he was in Asia. He sailed to Cuba and to Hispaniola.
He sailed back to Spain in the Nina.
He died in 1506.
