6. Translate the following sentences from English into Ukrainian

1. Most drilling rigs are large and noisy and, at times, the people who work on them perform actions that don’t make much sense to an uninitiated observer.

2. Although the rig itself is big, the hole it drills is usually not very big – usually less than a foot (30 centimeters) in diameter by the time it reaches final depth.

3. Getting to offshore rigs is more complicated, because they often work many miles (kilometers) from land and you need a boat or a helicopter to reach them.

4. One of the most distinctive parts of a drilling rig is its tall, strong structural tower called a “mast” or a “derrick”.

1. Проте, бурова установка працює лише з однією метою: пробурити отвір в землі.

2. Однак, вузенький отвір, який вона пробурює може бути глибоким: часто тисячі футів, або сотні метрів.

3. Дорогою до бурової установки, яка знаходиться на суші, ви, мабуть, побачите її частину ще задовго до того, як доберетеся до місця її розташування, особливо, якщо місцевість не надто горбиста й лісиста.

4. Бурові вишки і щогли міцні тому, що вони утримують вагу бурильного обладнання, яке може важити тонни.

5. Коли ви вийдете на робочий майданчик, зупиніться на мить, щоб перевести подих й озирнутися довкола.

9. Щогли і вишки повинні бути високими, оскільки в них мають поміститися в висоту труби, які робоча бригада піднімає під час буріння.

10. Незалежно від того чи ви працюєте на свердловині, чи ви лише прийшли подивитися, не слід нехтувати засобами індивідуального захисту, або, скорочено, ЗІЗ.
