Розслідування й облік нещасних випадків здійснюється відповідно до “Положення про розслідування та облік нещасних випадків, професійних захворювань і аварій на підприємствах, в установах і організаціях”.

Методика упорядкування акта Н-1 розглядається на занятті відповідно до пояснення щодо заповнення акта за формою Н-1.

Після закінчення періоду тимчасової непрацездатності або у випадку смерті потерпілого керівник і головний бухгалтер підприємства, на обліку якого значиться нещасний випадок, складають повідомлення про наслідки нещасного випадку за установленою формою і в десятиденний термін розсилають його організаціям і посадовим особам, яким розсилався акт за формою Н-1. Це повідомлення є невід'ємною частиною акта Н-1 і зберігається разом з актом Н-1.

Спеціальне розслідування групових і смертельних нещасних випадків здійснюється комісією спеціального розслідування, яка призначається наказом керівника Держнаглядохоронпраці (або його територіального органа), за узгодженням із організаціями, представники яких входять до складу комісії. За результатами розслідування складається акт за формою Н-5.
