2. Eyes are finished with blue shadow and mascara.

Her eyes were very big and very black, carefully shadowed with a blend of brown and green that made them look huge and tired. (Mary Stewart)

Her eye make-up is simple. She chooses either grey or r, grey-blue eye-shadow for day and brushes it in an arch over lids and socket line, often adding another pale shade, like daffodil or pale pink, just under her finely plucked brows. She always wears dark brown mascara.

She had on her opal earrings, her bracelets, and she was perfumed, her hair was combed with a new, clean part and her large eyelids shone with a bluish cosmetic.

Her eyebrows artificially pointed upwards to enhance those fine dauntlessly candid eyes. (Lawrence Durrell)

Her features were regular and handsome; her light grey eyes were heavily made up with green eye-shadow and mascara; her very long golden-red eyelashes curled over an ivory cheek. (Phyllis Bentley)

She had been in the bar nearly all evening, and was flushed, with purple veins appearing on her cheeks, and her mascara melted in a smudge along her upper lids. (Monica Dickens)

Tears came into her eyes and she quickly took up the moisture with a bit of cotton which she looked at for traces of mascara. (Maude Hutchins)

She had enormous eyes, made larger by the triple-thick theatrical eyelashes she was wearing. (Rona Jaffe)

Her hand had been shaking so much from nervousness that morning that it had taken half an hour to put on her false eyelashes. (Rona Jaffe)

Dixie took her nail file out of her bag, snapped the bag shut and started to grate at her nails. (Muriel Spark)

He began to run the nail file under his fingernails, which were already perfectly clean.

The woman stood in front of the gas heater and picked the dirt from under her thumb-nail with the third finger of her other hand. (John H. Griffin)

She never used nail-varnish. (Angus Wilson)

She opened a bottle of nail polish and applied 2 coats.

Etta was sitting in the chair by the window, painting her toe-nails with the red polish. (Carson McCullers)

... Rather clumsy hands but with long pointed nails painted mauve to match her skin-tight dress. (Phyllis Bentley)

She checked her toe-nails..., the shiny lacquer matching that on her fingers. (Maude Hutchins)
