MOGYLIV-PODILSKY

I live in Vinnitsa region in the town of Mogуliv-Podilsky. My town is not large but it's very beautiful. If you are enjoy the beauty of the Ukrainian nature and are fond of its history you will like my native place.

The history of our place as not long as the history of Kyiv. But we cannot say that Mogyliv-Podilsky is a young town. Its history goes back to the 16^th century when a small settlement was built in magnificent river glen on the bank Dnister River.

On the right bank of the river you can see a large Moldavian village. The founder of Mogyliv-Podilsky is considered to be Petro Mogyla, a Moldavian feudal lord.

The nature of our place is unique. The Dnister, which is full of fish, flows through the fertile lands. And from old times people liked to settle here.

There are many forests on the hills around the town. That's why the air is always fresh and clear. When you get on the hills you will admire the lovely view in front of you.

Besides the unique nature which is a great charm for the tourists, Mogyliv-Podilsky has some places interest some industrial enterprises, schools and colleges.

The population of Mogyliv-Podilsky is near 33 thousand people. The main street is Kyivska Street. It's the finest street of our town. You can see many chestnut-trees there. I like to have a long walk along this street especially in spring when the trees are blooming.

Machine-building plant named after Kirov is known not only in our district and our region but in Ukraine. It is one is most powerful plants of the region.

There are some historical monuments in Mogyliv-Podilsky. They are: the monument to Buyanov, a national hero of Italy, the monument to Gogol, the monument to Shevchenko and others.

If you want to know more about our town and our district, the local museum is always open for you. Numerous expositions will tell you about heroic history of our people and their present life.
