Six steps in job search
The top salespeople are the ones who know the product they are selling inside and out. They know the strong and weak points of the product and can tell others about it. Looking for a job means selling yourself. You are the product. The more facts you know about yourself, the better job you will be able to get. Your prosperous employers would be interested to know about your education, qualifications, skills, interests, and previous job experience. If you don't have accurate information or if you are uncertain about it, you'll produce a poor impression. Your personal information is needed each time you look for a job during your lifetime. If you organize your facts now, you can simply update them as you get more experience. The following steps will help you to gather all necessary information and make the process of job searching much more easy.

Exercise 28. Deal with the text about a resume:
How to write a resume
Your resume should show the employer how your skills match the job you are applying for. It should give the employer a sense that you would be good investment for the company. To be effective, your resume should:
emphasize your accomplishments – not just your job titles and responsibilities, but also the results you obtained;
include only the work experience that is relevant to the job you are applying for;
be easy to read and not too wordy; and
have no spoiling, grammatical or typing errors.
In chronological resume, jobs are lifted with the most recent first.
Your dates of employment, name of employer, and job title are listed in order. This is followed by a statement explaining your accomplishments on the job.
In a functional resume, experience and skills are given by job title, without dates or places of employment. This method is useful where the job – seeker has made many changes, is in transition from one field to another, or has never worked before.
Heading
Name, address, and telephone number in the upper left/ right hand corner or upper middle of the page. Include zip code and telephone area code.
Professional Objective and Summary
This can be very important. This is your goal around which all other
items in the resume revolve. Include only your immediate goal. Be specific with a job title or a clear description of your area of interest. Sometimes a brief summary of your qualifications is helpful.
Professional Experience
List by chronology or function, according to what is most appropriate for your background. Give a description of what you did, materials or products used or worked on, your accomplishments, a sample of something significant that you did. Use action verbs like planned, organized, developed, and managed.
Education
Use the comparable American degrees wherever possible.
Personal Data
Give your immigration and residence status and state that your employment is authorized. List the languages you are fluent in, making sure to indicate your native language and English.
