DIALOGUE
Read, translate, answer the questions and reproduce the dialogue.
Janet: What is your address?
Margaret: 9, Katunin Street, flat 7.
Janet: Where do you live? Do you live in the University’ s hostel?
Margaret: No, I am renting a small room in a new five-storeyed building. The flat I live in is well-planned, cosy and comfortable. Our house is situated in a side - street. And what about you?
Janet: I live in our students’ hostel. The students’ hostel is situated in the suburb but next to our University. I share the room with two young girls. It’ s quite a modern hostel looking out on the stadium and a crowded street.
Margaret: Do you live on the ground floor or on the top floor?
Janet: My room is on the tenth floor. But our hostel has all modern conveniences such as telephone, a lift, a rubbish chute, central heating, electricity, cold and hot water, electric stoves, toilets, kitchens, bathrooms, and a hot and cold shower. Does your house face the market?
Margaret: Yes, it does. My house looks onto the market. Our house has the same modern conveniences. But cooking is by gas. What is there in your room?
Janet: In our room we have got a big oval table with three chairs round it, three single beds, a built-in wardrobe for three persons, a sideboard, a dressing-stool and three bookshelves. Between two bookshelves there is a square mirror.
Margaret: Is there a standard lamp in your room?
Janet: In front of the table there is a nice standard lamp. Just above the table there is a hanging lamp. We haven’t chandeliers in our rooms. The walls of our room are light-rose. On the floor there is a green carpet.
Margaret: Your room is rather cosy and comfortable. But it’ s so dull without having a TV-set.
Janet: Certainly. But we are going to hire a TV-set and a fridge. Each student has a good radio-set or a transistor. Sometimes we turn on our radio and listen to it. Do you like your new flat?
Margaret: Yes, I do. To tell the truth I am satisfied with my room. But now I am hurrying home. I’ m happy to see you again.
Janet: Nice to meet you!
