Your memory is like a brilliant, but unreliable computer storing a large amount of information. Theoretically the brain can record more than 86 billion bits of information every day and our memory can probably hold 100 trillion bits in a life time. Nevertheless only about 20 per cent of our daily experience is registered and of that only tiny proportion is loaded into long-term memory.

There are a lot of techniques and exercises using associations with letters, images, maps which can help you remember. Each of them depends on how comfortable you are with or how useful they are to your way of thinking.
