Другие способы выражения сравнения.

1.Для сравнения 2 предметов одинакового качества прилагательное ставится между as … as со значением такой же …, как; так же…, как: as efficient as

2.При отрицании одинакового качества употребляется not so … as- не такой …, как: not so efficient as that one

3.При переводе английских сравнительных предложений, содержащих the … the в сочетании с прилагательным в сравнительной степени, употребляется русский союз чем…, тем.

The sooner the better. Чем скорее, тем лучше.

4.Обратите внимание на перевод словосочетаний:

Twice as much as- в 2 раза больше

Ten times as much as- в 10 раз больше, чем…

Four times as long as- в 4 раза длиннее, чем…

Half as much (many) as- в полтора раза больше, чем…

Half the size- в 2 раза меньше по размеру
