CONVERSATION PRACTICE

  1. Read this dialogue. Make up your own dialogues using the Continuous tenses.

  • Hi, Peter! What are you doing here, in the park?

  • Hi, Helen, I’m reading for my exam in physics.

  • Are you really reading for your exam in the park?

  • Of course I am! And there is nothing strange about it.

  • I shouldn’t say so. As for me, the ideal way of preparing for the exams is to work at the library.

  • That's what you think. Look! The sun is shining brightly, the trees are blossoming and the people are walking around. All this makes you feel happy.

  • And what about your exam in physics?

  • Oh, don't worry about it. By the way, I tried to go to the library and work there, but, unfortunately, when I came there, all the seats were occupied, and all the students there were working at their books.

  • Oh, now I see, why you are here. You are just enjoying yourself.

  • Don’t jump into hasty conclusions. I am really solving some physical problem here. Looking at the top of this high tree over there, I am trying to solve, with what force the wind is blowing.

  • And will you be solving some physical problems here tomorrow too?

  • Oh, no! I’ll be passing my exam in physics at that time.

  • Then, I wish you good luck at the exam.

  • Thank you.
