Text 1. I AM A STUDENT
I am a first year student at Lviv state University named after Ivan Franko, Physics Department. In August I took my entrance exams and was enrolled at the University. Of course it was not an easy experience, but I did my best, I worked hard at my subjects, and, as a result, I passed all my exams successfully and my dream to become a student finally came true. Here I must say, that there were many young people who were not so lucky as I was, because they failed in their entrance exams.
My lessons usually begin at 9.30, but when we have physical training (and we have it twice a week), I have to go to the stadium very early, because it is situated far from the University, and it takes me some time to get there in time. I think that those students who live at the hostel are lucky on such occasions, as our stadium is situated near the hostel, and it takes them only a few minutes to get there.
I live with my parents in a new comfortable flat, which is situated very far from the hostel and the stadium. Here I must confess that it is a problem for me to get up early, so I began to look for the ways of solving this problem. And the solution turned out to be very interesting one. I asked for my parents' permission, and they let me stay at the hostel the night before my physical training. Now I have the chance to compare the students' life at home, with the parents , that each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages.
We do many subjects at the University. Here are some of them: physics, higher mathematics, foreign languages (English, German or French), history of Ukraine. Though physics is my favourite subject, I take great interest in the history of our country, because there are still so many facts from our history, which I have never heard of about.
Our lessons are over at three o'clock. After dinner we have some, practice at the physics laboratory, or work at the library. But you are wrong if you think that I and my groupmates study and study and study all the day long. We find time for some enjoyment as well, because, as the old proverb says, ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY.
