I. Put these sentences in Present Perfect, using corresponding adverbial modifiers of time.
Pattern 1: I am writing a letter (already)
I have already written the letter
1. Bill is writing a letter (already). 2. He was reading a book (already). 3. They will go home (just). 4. I saw him (just).
Pattern 2: I was in London last year (never)
I have never been to London.
1. He is in Kyiv (never). 2. He explained me this rule (never).
3. I saw this film (never). She did, this work (never).
Pattern 3: He lived in Paris in 1993 (since)
He has lived in Paris since 1993.
(Він живе в Парижі з 1993 року.)
1. I did not see him June (since). 2. They did not speak English last year (since). 3. I did not do it last week (since).
Pattern 4: Nick is trying to learn driving (this year).
Nick has tried to learn driving this year.

II. Translate these sentences into Ukrainian, paying attention to the tense form of the verb-predicate.

III. Answer the questions:

Ти вже зробив домашні завдання? - Ще ні. Я зараз розв’язую задачі. 4. Чи ти коли-небудь грав у шахи з Білом? Чи добре він грає? ~ Я не знаю. Я ніколи не грав у шахи з ним. 5. I. Read these dialogues. Make up the dialogues of your own, using them as models:

Hi, Jane, how are you? I haven’t seen you for ages.
I’m fine, thanks.
And how’s your sister? I haven’t seen her lately at college.
She’s ill. She’s been ill for a month already.
Oh, I’m so sorry.
2)
Hi, Helen, I feel like going to the movies tonight.

No, I haven’t.
I haven’t seen it either, though this film has already been on for a couple of weeks.

Comment on these sentences using pattern. Translate them into Ukrainian.
Pattern: I am a student.
So am І. Я також (студент).
Peter lives in Lviv.
So do І. Я також (живу).
Ann has many friends.
So have І. Я також (маю).
She can read English.
So can I Я також (можу читати).
