Grammar theme: Множественное число существительных

1. Множественное число существительных образуется при помощи окончания –s: a sea – seas. 2. При этом сущ-е, оканчивающиеся на –o, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -z образуют мн.ч. при помощи окончания –es: box – boxes, hero - heroes 3. В сущ-х, оканчивающихся на –y с согласной перед ней, -у меняется во мн.ч. на i: baby-babies; - в тех сущ-х, где перед –у стоит гласная, -у не меняется на –i-: a day-days 4. Сущ-е, оканчивающиеся на –f –fe во мн.ч. имеют –ves: a wife-wives. Но: roof-roofs, chief-cheifs 5. Особые случаи образования мн.ч.: Man-men (мужчины) Woman-women (женщины) Child-children (дети) Ox-oxen (быки) Tooth-teeth (зубы) Foot-feet (ступни) Mouse-mice (мыши) Goose-geese (гуси) Fish-fish (рыба-рыбы) Deer-deer(олень-олени) Sheep-sheep (овца-овцы)
