1.Definition of the key words:

Adult-someone who is no longer a child and is legally responsible for their own actions.

Terrific- very good or interesting.

Area- a part of a place or building.

Rickshaw- a small vehicle with two wheels that is used for carrying passengers and is pulled by someone riding a bicycle or walking.

Flare – a bright light which is used as a signal in the dark.

Toddler – a very young child who is learning how to walk.

Tourist – someone who is visiting a place on holiday.

Hiker- a person who travels by asking other people to take him in their transport.

Ferry – a boat that makes short regular journeys between two or more places.

Deck – the outside top part of a ship that people can walk on.

2.Present perfect (simple versus continuous)

1.I (to be/write) this essay all evening but I (to write) only ten lines. (I have been writing this essay all evening but I have only written ten lines.)

2.She (to be/wait) here for ages. (She has been waiting here for ages.)

3.Unusual forms of travel

Multicultural – consisting of people of different cultures.

Aboriginal- an Australian who belongs to the race of people who were living in Australia before Europeans arrived.

A rural area – a place in the countryside.

Migrant – someone who travels to another place in order to find work.

Unique – very special, unusual.

Harbour – an area of water next to the land where boats can stop.

Sanctuary – a special area where animals live in a natural environment protected from people.

Marsupials – animals which carry their young in a pouch.

Venue – the place where an activity or event happens.

Vineyard – a piece of land where grapes are grown and wine is produced.

2.Time prepositions; causatives

Choose the right time preposition:

1.They have been married for/since/until 1998. (They have been married since 1998)

Make up a sentence using causative.

2.His car is broken. (repair, soon). (he is going to get it repaired soon).

3.Australia; New Zealand

1. Give the definition of the key words:

Occupation- it’s a job.

Freelance- a journalist.

To dive-to swim under water using special equipment that makes it possible to breath.

Snorkel- a piece of equipment with a tube that fits in your mouth so that you can breathe when you are swimming under water.

Rig- a tall structure with equipment for getting oil or gas out of the ground.

Explosive- violent or very difficult.

Pipelines-a long underground pipe that carries water

Rear- the back part of a place or thing.

Offshore- in the sea, not in the land.

Easy-going- relaxed, calm and not easy to upset.

2.Future, present tenses in future time clauses

Choose the right variant:

1.Jim says Brazil will win/wins/winning the next World Cup. (Jim says Brazil will win the next World Cup)

2.My brother buy/buying/is going to buy a new house. (My brother is going to buy a new house)

3.My sister comes/is coming/will come tomorrow. (My sister is coming tomorrow)
