Wind and brass: trumpet, saxophone. They can be made of wood, metal and plastic. You play them by blowing into mouthpiece.
Stringed: guitar, violin. You play them with your fingers, or with a bow of your plectrum. A sound is produced when the strings vibrate.
Keyboard: piano, organ. You make a sound by pressing the keys.
Percussion: drums, tambourine. You make a sound by hitting them with your hand, stick or mallet.
