Рекомендации студентам по работе с учебными текстами по специальности
1. Произношение и чтение
Одной из отличительных особенностей английского языка является то, что не всегда имеется звукобуквенное соответствие при чтении вслух письменного текста. Прежде чем приступить к чтению, необходимо выучить произношение новых слов, встретившихся в тексте, обратить внимание на принципы словообразования и выучить слова и выражения, составляющие активную лексику текста.
2. Работа с лексикой
Для лучшего запоминания новой лексики необходимо вести словарь, куда следует выписывать из текста новые лексические единицы с транскрипцией и переводом. Чтобы хорошо запомнить новое слово, необходимо произнести его многократно, громко и четко. Усваивая и заучивая новое слово, обязательно воспроизводите внутренний образ слова одновременно со звучанием (старайтесь представить то, что это слово обозначает). Заучивая слова и выражения, обязательно повторяйте их на следующий день.
Чтобы закрепить пройденные слова и выражения, рекомендуется:
- систематически перечитывать пройденные тексты;
- по возможности читать больше текстов общественно-политической и педагогической направленности.
Работу над текстом рекомендуется начинать в аудитории, отрабатывая произношение сложных терминов, а также знакомясь с опорными словами. Первоначальный перевод текста должен быть дословным, облегчающим понимание основного смысла. При таком дословном переводе следует выписывать все незнакомые слова, которые потом необходимо выучить. На следующем этапе работы над текстом подбираются слова и словосочетания, более четко передающие мысль переводимого материала, и устанавливается грамматическая связь слов в предложении.
Когда текст переведен полностью, его читают весь целиком и вносят стилистические поправки. Убедившись, что перевод точно передает мысль английского текста и соответствует нормам русского языка, можно считать, что начальный этап работы над текстом закончен. Далее следует этап работы над грамматическими особенностями данного текста. Этот этап работы рекомендуется проводить в аудитории, поскольку в некоторых случаях может понадобиться комментарий преподавателя.
Следующий этап работы над текстом по специальности - ответы на вопросы (письменно или устно). Завершается работа составлением плана к тексту, пересказом и /или обсуждением прочитанного в свободной дискуссии на более продвинутом этапе изучения иностранного языка.
Следовательно, чтобы успешно справиться с работой над научным текстом, необходимо:
Запомнить необходимый минимум слов-терминов.
Уметь определять значение слова по контексту.
Научиться различать, переводить словообразовательные формы и оперировать ими.
Правильно употреблять новые слова в словосочетаниях.
Узнавать, переводить и употреблять грамматические формы и конструкции, характерные для научной литературы на английском языке.
Исходить при переводе из контекста как единого целого.
3. Работа над упражнениями
При работе с упражнениями необходимо обращать внимание на следующие виды заданий:

Необходимо уделять внимание словообразованию, разбирать суффиксы и префиксы, при помощи которых можно от одной части речи образовать другую или изменить значение слова.
3) Задания на работу с лексикой:
Read and translate the following international words. Mind the pronunciation.
Give Russian equivalents to the following words and word – combinations.
Give English equivalents to the following words and phrases.
Give synonyms to the following word combinations from the text.
В каждом тексте необходимо выделять активный лексический минимум и его заучивать. Для этой цели нужно спрашивать по-английски, по-русски, предлагать задания на составление устных и письменных предложений для перевода. На закрепление активного вокабуляра нацелены задания типа:

Answer the following questions.
Express agreement or disagreement with the following saying: yes, you are right (it’s correct)/ no, you are not right (you are wrong).
Make up sentences of your own using the words and word - combinations given below.
Make up the plan of the text. Here are the titles in the wrong order. Make the order correct.
При переходе к изучению следующего текста нужно попросить студентов его пересмотреть и найти в нем ранее изученный активный лексический материал. Таким образом, осуществляется процесс интеграции.
