Last year Harry Grain worked for a big bank in the city of London. He had a great salary, a lovely house, and drove an expensive car. Harry thought he had everything he wanted. But one day all that changed. Harry had a heart attack. He was in hospital for five weeks. In fact, he nearly died. ‘I worked myself almost to death,’ said Harry. ‘I was the person who always had to be the best, drive the fastest car and earn the biggest salary, but I wasn’t happy. I was stressed all the time.’ When he left the hospital, Harry changed his life dramatically. He left his job at the bank, bought a new, smaller house, and started work as a gardener. ‘I’ve always wanted to work outside,’ he said. ‘Now I get much more exercise and I spend more time with my family. I live in a smaller house. I realised I don’t have to always be the best. My life is much quieter and simpler now – and I’m much happier.’
