
Stratford-on-Avon
Stratford is known to be situated right in the centre of England. W. Shakespeare to have been born here made the small town very famous. His birthplace is a small house with small rooms in the centre of Stratford. To see it, lots of people visit the town and write their names on the walls. Everybody knows Shakespeare to have become famous bought the biggest house in Stratford and there he died in 1616. But nothing is left of the house today.
There is a garden behind the house. All the flowers, trees and plants mentioned in Shakespeare's plays are growing here.

London
London is the capital of Great Britain, its political, economic and commercial center. It is one of the largest cities in the world and the largest city in Europe. Its population is about 8 million. London is one of the oldest and most interesting cities in the world.
Traditionally it is divided into several parts: the City, Westminster, the West End and the East End.
The heart of London is the City, its financial and business centre. Numerous banks, offices and firms are situated there including the Bank of England, the Stock Exchange and the Old Bailey. Over a million people come to the City to work. There are some famous ancient buildings within the City. The best known of them are St. Paul’s Cathedral, the greatest of English churches, and the Tower of London. The Tower was founded by Julius Caesar.
Westminster is the historic, the governmental part of London. Nearly all English kings and queens have been crowned in Westminster Abbey. Many outstanding people are buried here: Newton, Darwin, Chaucer, Kipling, etc (et cetera).
Across the road from Westminster Abbey is Westminster Palace or the Houses of Parliament. The Clock Tower of the Houses is famous for Big Ben, the big hour bell. Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the Queen.
The West End is the richest and most beautiful part of London. The best hotels, shops, restaurants, clubs and theatres are situated there.
Trafalgar Square is the geographical centre of London. It was named in memory of Admiral Nelson's victory in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
There are a lot of museums, galleries in London. The British museum is the biggest museum. It contains a priceless collection of ancient manuscripts, coins, sculptures, etc, and is famous for its library.
The East End is the industrial district of London. There are a lot of factories, workshops and docks here. The East End is densely populated by working class families.
