About myself

Let me introduce myself. My name is Nick. I am seventeen. I am a first-year student of the Tver Technic University. My family consists of 4 members: my father, my mother, my sister and me. My father is an engineer. My mother is an economist, my sister is a pupil. She is 10 years old. I went to school in 1987. I finished it in 1997. I studied many subjects at school, but my favourite ones were mathematics and physics. As I studied well I decided to continue my education. As my father graduated from the Technic University (then it was called a Polytechnic Institute) he advised me to enter it. I took entrance exams and passed them successfully. So I was enrolled to the University. Now I am in the first course. I study at the Humanitarian faculty, my speciality being psychology.

The academic year begins in September. It lasts 10 months and ends in June. There are 2 terms in the course of the academic year. So students take examinations twice a year. During the terms students have to attend lectures, to carry out laboratory tests and to do practical work.

The University has a five year course of study. The first year students study different subjects: higher mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, history, computer sciences and a number of other subjects. Usually we have one lecture and 2 practical classes. Usually our classes begin at a half past eight and end at a half past one. We have highly qualified lecturers and professors. We have several computer classes and many well-equipped laboratories. In 5 years I shall graduate from the University. I like to study so I hope to become a highly qualified specialist in a chosen field.
