Инфинитив

Инфинитив – неличная форма глагола, обладающая признаками глагола и существительного.

На русский язык переводится неопределенной формой глагола, отглагольным существительным, личной формой глагола, перевод зависит от синтаксической функции.

Формы инфинитива

Синтаксические функции инфинитива:

1. Подлежащее

To see is to believe.

2. Дополнение

I don’t know whether to answer him or not.

Я не знаю ответят ему или нет.

3. Определение

I have no idea how to get there.

Я не имею представления как туда добраться.

4. Обстоятельство (цели и следствия)

He is too young to understand it.

Он слишком молод, чтобы понять это.

5. Части сказуемого

The problem is how to do it.

Проблема заключается в том, как это сделать.
