Страдательный залог (The Passive Voice)
The office was cleaned yesterday
Somebody cleans the office every day. (active)
The office is cleaned every day. (passive)
Somebody cleaned the office yesterday. (active)
The office was cleaned yesterday. (passive).
The passive is : Past participle
Present Simple am/is/are (not) cleaned done
Past Simple was/were (not) invented built
The Past participle of regular verbs is – ed (clean+ed/ damage+ed)
For a list if irregular past participles (done/built/taken etc)
Butter is made from milk.
Oranges are imported into Britain.
How often are these rooms cleaned?
I am never invented to parties.
This house was built 100 years ago.
These houses were built 100 years ago.
When was the telephone invented?
We weren’t invented to the party last week.
Was/were born
I was born in London in 1962. (not I’m born)
Where were you born?
Passive + by ….
We were woken up by a loud noise. (The noise woke us up)
The telephone was invented by Alexander Bell in 1876.
My brother was bitten by a dog last week.
В английском языке существует два залога глагола: действительный (the Active Voice) и страдательный (the Passive Voice). В том случае, когда подлежащее является действующим лицом, мы имеем дело с действительным залогом, например:
I read, a newspaper every day. Я читаю газету каждый день. (Подле
жащее I является действующим ли
цом, и поэтому мы говорим, что
данное предложение стоит в действи-
тельном залоге.)
Если же подлежащее не является действующим лицом, а действие направлено на подлежащее, то в этом случае мы имеем дело с предложением в страдательном залоге, например:
The book was written by my friend. Книга была написана моим другом.
(Здесь действие направлено на под лежащее the book.)
Страдательный залог образуется при помощи вспомогательного глагола to be в соответствующем времени, лице и числе в сочетании с Past Participle (причастием прошедшего времени) смыслового глагола.
Формула образования страдательного залога:
to be Past Participle (в соответствующем времени, + смыслового глагола лице и числе) |
Например:
The house was built last month. Дом был построен в прошлом месяце.
The teacher was sent for. За учителем послали.
Как видно из вышеприведенных примеров, глагол в страдательном залоге в английском языке можно переводить на русский язык следующими тремя способами:
1) сочетанием глагола «быть» с краткой формой страдательного причастия — в этом сочетании глагол to be в настоящем времени на русский язык не переводится;
2) глаголом, оканчивающимся на -ся (-сь);
3) глаголом в действительном залоге в 3-м лице множественного числа в составе неопределенно-личного предложения.
Страдательный залог употребляется:
1) когда нам неизвестно лицо, совершающее действие, или по каким-то причинам мы не хотим упоминать его:
A lot of books are published in our Очень много книг ежегодно издается
country every year. в нашей стране.
2) когда предмет действия представляет для нас больший интерес, чем действующее лицо:
The picture was bought yesterday. Картина была куплена вчера.

Your sister won’t bring you flowers. 14. Our managers won’t discuss this matter next week. 15. Your parents will present to you a car on your on your birthday. 16. Your friends won’t recognize you in this dress.
Exercise 2. Translate the sentences and use groups of Passive.
1. Этот ресторан часто посещают знаменитые художники. 2. Этот человек хорошо известен в нашей стране. 3. меня часто просят подвезти кого-нибудь домой. 4. Мне кажется, что наша дверь не закрыта. 5. Ко мне часто обращаются друзья с разными вопросами. 6. Эти дискеты обычно используется нашими программистами. 7. Эту пищу не едят даже собаки.8. Вчера вечером наш разговор был продолжен. 9. К сожалению, мои друзья не последовали этому совету. 10. Эту мебель вчера передвинули в другую комнату.
