A) Complete the text with an appropriate forms of the verb to be (is, isn’t, are, aren’t).
So, the most of our students live in the so-called students’ flats. They are great! There … a gym and a swimming pool. And there … a superb bar with great music. We go there every night! The flats are really nice. There … four bedrooms in a flat and there … a kitchen and a bathroom too. Unfortunately there … a living room, but the bedrooms are big and comfortable. There … any shops, but there … a supermarket not far away.
b) Answer the questions on the text.
Is there a fitness center or a gym in the area?
There isn’t any swimming pool there, is there?
Where can students listen to nice music?
How many bedrooms are there in a flat?
What else is there in each flat?
Is there a living room in a flat?
How many shops are there in the area?
A) Circle the best answer.
My bedroom in the flat isn’t very big, but it’s comfortable. There is a/some/any big bed and a/some/any comfortable armchair. There are a/some/any plants near the window and a/some/any cushions on the floor. There aren’t a/some/any posters on the wall but there’s a/some/any mirror and a/some/any shelves. I haven’t got a/some/any books on the shelves, but there are a lot of CDs and tapes.
