The given item allows to receive the additional information about the application and operation with it.

Windows inquiry

One more tool of the dialogue of the Windows with the user is the inquiry. The window of inquiry containing header, button to close and directly inquiry. In a field of inquiry there should be as a minimum one button, it confirms, that you have read and have understood the written text.

The conventions at inquiries

As well as in the menu, in inquiries the defined conventions are received. I would like to list them:

• If the inscription on the button is displayed by grey colour, it means, that, the option appropriate to the button, in the given moment is inaccessible;

• If near to the name of the button 3-dots"..." are shown, at pressing the given button the additional window of inquiry will be opened;

• Before inquiry answer the further operation with the application is impossible;

• Click on the button  to close means a cancellation of offered operations;

• The pressing the button Help (Справка) allows to find out more detailed information on the situation;

• Click on the button to the right of header ? allows to receive context-sensitive help (after click on the button ? it is necessary to click on a not clear unit).

If in the window there is a selected text:

• At pressing <BackSpace> the text will disappear;

• If you enter the new text from the keyboard, it will replace the old text;

• To edit the selected text, click on it the Mouse.

The context-sensitive menu

Вырезать (Cut) – allows to place the given object (folder, file, document) in a clipboard, the original thus will be deleted;

Копировать (Copy) – allows to place the given object (folder, file, document) in a clipboard, the original thus remain on a place;

Вставить (Paste) – allows to place in the given place contents of a clipboard;

Открыть (Open) – allows to open the given folder, to start the file, to open the document;

Проводник (Explorer) – calls a Проводник (Explorer);

Отправить (Send To) – allows to send the given file (folder) to the E-mail, to the diskette etc.;

Создать (New) – allows to create a shortcut, folder, text document etc.;

Удалить (Delete) – allows to delete the given object (to place it in a Recycle Bin);

Переименовать (Rename) – allows to change a name (signature under an icon) given object;

Упорядочить (Arrange Icons) – allows to arrange icons according to their name, type, size, date or automatically;

Отменить (Undo) – allows to cancel the last operation;

Что это такое? (What's This?) – allows to receive help on the given object;

Свойства (Properties) – allows to see properties of the object (for example parameters of start applications, parameters of a desktop, property of the file) and, if necessary, to adjust them.

Depending on the selected object the context-sensitive menu can contain a part of the listed above items, and it is possible also any additional items.

The list

One more sort of inquiry is the list. To select the necessary unit it is necessary simple to click on it the mouse. The double click on a unit of the list results in a choice of the given item and closing of the window.

Sometimes it happens it is necessary to select from the list at once some units. In this case you can act as follows:

• To place a marker of the mouse, on the first unit, necessary for you, to push the left mouse button and to move a marker on the last unit, interesting for you, where and to release the button;

• To click the mouse on the first unit, necessary for you, of the list, to press [Shift], and, holding a key to click on the last unit, interesting for you;

• To press [Ctrl] and, not releasing a key, to click the mouse on units, interesting for you; the given way allows to select units located not in succession.

There are following main sorts of lists:

• Drop-down list.

• The list with a text field.

• Check box.

• The switch.

• Digital field with arrows.

• Box with bookmarks.

• Inquiry on a file name. (Папка / Look in, Вверх на один уровень / Up One Level, Имя файла /File Name, Открыть / Open, Сохранить / Save, Отмена / Cancel)
