In this essay I clearly focus on main finding and identification of real causes of Punic War. Focus on works of several scientists, thinking critically and making links between them (probably some of them confirm another, some conflict another). Focus will be on all sources, but just true of them will be used to make general conclusion.

Research question: What were causes of the Punic Wars?

Abstract

  • My theme is causes of the Punic War and my research question is: what were causes of the Punic War?

  • I investigate this question through several and different researches. Firstly I tried to find good research with common and useful information. Making multiplicity of source logs I filtered all information and selected just most appropriate parts. Third step was analyzing filtered and selected information. After analyzing given data I came to own conclusion. By the way I used and compared some thoughts and quotes of different scientists. At the end of the essay I made my own conclusion, which is not contradicting true thoughts and complements and collects all data. I constructed finding answer on main question by unfurled plan: to find causes of the war from both sides separately, then joining and making compare do own conclusion to the inquire

  • My conclusion is that the Punic Wars have several causes. Firstly, Rome wasn’t empire, because of it had differently goals in war than Cartage. Romans goals for first step were to save and protect growing imperialism in Rome. Youth Rome was needed in Cartage’s goods, during when Cartage was needed in annexing several places near Rome. Both of them had different, but in the same time same causes.

Economic Causes the Punic Wars

Introduction

War is a fear event in the human world. It had, has and will have many different reasons. All historical wars have beginning by some reasons, but what reasons? What pushes people to war or who? At the war each side pursuit own aims. It is big question to the world, but by unknown reasons this doesn’t took necessary value in society. Closer to the present war took more difficult to understand and to identify the real causes of the war. Fog of secrecy prevents to find true causes of modern war. But if human wants to understand the nature of modern wars, it should start from the beginning.

Causes of the ancient times can be easily installed, because their psychology was distinct from the present’s. Time when there were no superpowers, deep politics, industry and the goals were not ambitious. The hallmark event of the ancient history was a long war between two countries, which were different from the rest: in one- a council of elders and in the other- Senate and the aristocracy. They were called the Punic Wars, between Rome and Cartage. On another side: we have big obstacle. This war happened many years ago and it is not many quotes of ancient scientist. This is big problem, which haven’t been investigated exactly yet. I will try to solve this problem and pass through obstacle.

Now, I’m putting a question to which I will try to answer throughout the essay: What were economical and political reasons of the war between Rome and Carthage? That is the true, that only few people know real cause of Punic War. This question has many sources with answers. I have collected enough information, and collecting it, I make full answer to the question.

Let’s begin with little excursus of history with no dates, names of generals and politicians, schemes of fights and battles, by which is usually overwhelmed all history books. So ...

Context

The Punic Wars were not just a few major battles of two kingdoms. They were not similar to other wars of their time: the wars were not king’s, goals were not only looting and there were significant historical events. On the study of Punic wars, we can step by step understand human’s and war’s nature. Finding and understanding the causes of past wars we may find real causes of modern war. May be able to prevent the war, though not in whole world, perhaps in our country. We can understand the thinking of antiquity, fill up our knowledge of the ancient and explore the history. What were Punic wars? Just a battle between two powers: young Rome and elder Carthage, or it was a plexus of personal goals of Senate, the war for domination and capture control points?

First we will explore money, as the main reason for the war and then we will explore the increase in power as a possible cause.
