ТЕРНОПІЛЬ – 2013
Introduction
Russia is a country in northern Eurasia. It is a federal semi-presidential republic, comprising 83 federal subjects. At 17,075,400 square kilometers (6,592,800 sq. mi.), Russia is the largest country in the world, covering more than one-eighth of the Earth's inhabited land area. GDP at purchasing power parity is $2,513 trillion (sixth place), per capita - $17,709 (55th place). Nominal GDP – $2,022 trillion (eighth place), per capita - $14,247 (48th place).
Russia is an important player in the international arena that is why it always attracts a lot of attention of the world community. The economy of the Russian Federation is developing. Nonstop process of integration into the world economy takes place. That is why it is important to study the international trade of the Russian Federation as a key indicator of the cooperation of Russia with other countries.
The Object of Study. The object of study is the international trade of the Russian Federation.
The Subject of Study. The subject of study is the dynamics of the main indicators of the international trade of the Russian Federation.
The Purpose of Study. The study aims to systematize the indicator of the international trade of the Russian Federation during the period of 1992-2012, to study the structure of its export and import and to determine its key partner countries.

Analyzing the date of the picture 1, we can conclude that in the first decade after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991-2001 the indicators of the international trade of Russia Federation had remained relatively stable. We can note certain instability in the rate of import in 1996: an abrupt surge followed by the equally abrupt decrease. In turn, this caused the change in the overall international trade rates.
The constant increase of the international trade rates of Russia Federation began in 2002. This consorts with the world tendencies of that time.
The increase continued to 2008 followed by a significant decrease of the import and export rates caused by the world economic crisis.
However, due to successful anti-crisis policy, Russia quickly recovers from the impact of the crisis and the new upward trend of export and import rates takes place in 2009. Their physical indicators have reached the pre-crisis levels in 2011. The upward trend continues up until the date. Russia ended 2012 with a turnover rate of $864 934 million.
It is worth noting that in 2012, compared with the period 2009-2011, the growth rate of foreign trade reduced significantly.
What is important is the fact that during the whole period of 1992-2012 we can note that balance of trade of the Russian Federation consists of exporting more than is imported, i.e. a trade surplus takes place.
