9. Comment on the following statements:
Every man who knows how to read has it in his power to magnify himself,
to multiply the ways in which he exists, to make his life, significant and interesting (Aldous Huxley).
What may be done at any time will be done at no time.
10. Points for discussion and a role-play:
What is the essence of the notion «truth»?
What is absolute truth? What role does it play in cognition?
Do you agree with Rousseau who said: «Thousands of roads lead astray, only one to the truth».
You are given a chance to change a political system of your country. Would you take into account Plato's ideas of «the Republic»? Which of them and Why?
10. Writing:
Write a project of an ideal State.
11. Test your logic:
Holmes received a hand delivered note which he studied for a short time before passing to Watson. «It's some sort of code!» exclaimed Watson. «What does it mean and who is it from?» Holmes grabbed his hat and coat. «It's from Moriarty, Watson. Hurry, we must stop him!»
The message read: J XJMM SPC UIF CBOL PG FOHMBOE UPOJHIU.
NPSJBSUZ.
HOLMES HAD OBVIOUSLY DECIPHERED THE MESSAGE. CAN YOU?
