ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Students are required to submit assignment “Photo Journal” in hard copy to Prof. B. Fezzani and electronically to the following email address (to be announced later). The deadline must be strictly adhered to. All assignment must use the Assignment cover sheet and assignment feedback as the first two pages of the assignment. No extensions will be granted for assignment submissions. If the assignment is submitted late due to circumstances beyond your control, you are to inform me and secure a written permission, using an Application for Late Submission of Submission of Assessed Work Form.
A late penalty will be applied to an assessment item submitted after the date for submission, a later date agreed to by Prof. B. Fezzani in response to an application for an extension of time. The late penalty will take the form of a deduction of a fixed percentage of marks (10%) per day up until a maximum period of two (2) days, at which time the assignment will be assigned zero marks.

PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is the use of someone else’s language, ideas, information or original material without acknowledging the source.
Plagiarism is a serious offence and any individual (who is suspected of plagiarism) would be referred to the Academic Integrity Committee of IITU and will be at least assigned a zero for his photo journal, other penalties may apply.
Students are advised that the Harvard referencing style should be consistently adopted for all written assessment. IITU treats any act of dishonesty relating to assessment of University course very seriously. It is vital that student acquaint themselves with the University’s policy on plagiarism.
Assignment: Photo Journal
Introduction
You are required to come up with a reflective journal with photographs. You must be able to apply economic concepts and theories to the photos collection. This project will contribute 20% to the total assessment (10% for the first midterm and 10% for the second midterm
The aim of the reflective journal is for you to be able to apply and analyze the microeconomic concepts and theory. In addition to expand your knowledge and understanding of the economy, it offers and excellent opportunity for you to develop interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, which involve the ability to work with others and be able to manage time effectively.
Requirements
For a group of four (4) (or 5 maximum). Submit the group confirmation form to me.
Refer Appendix 2 for the form and submit by Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013.
Choose a topic. Make your group unanimously choose one economic concept that interests you. Note: Each group has to have a different topic. Make sure you submit as soon as possible to get your first choice.
Refer Appendix 1 for the List of concepts and topics.
Do your research. List down the issues related to the concept you choose. Refer to as many textbooks, magazines or journals to demonstrate a vast coverage of the concept you choose.
The journal must be fact-based and reflects information from the photo collection. The maximum limit for this photo journal is 15 pages.
Plan your shots/photos. Each shot/photo must emphasize or relate to the concept you choose. Work in group!
Recognize your photo collection photo journal should smoothly explain the economic concepts. Use headings, titles and subtitles to ensure the journal is logically structure.
Be creative! Boast your talent to attract attention of the people around you. Make sure you guide them to enjoy learning the economic concept in the photos you’ve collected.
