G) Read and translate the text with the help of a dictionary. The Market of Flour

The research of company "IKAR"

Thanks to a good wheat harvest, the output of premium flour increased 3%, while total flour output dropped 4% during the first ten months of this farming year. The emphasis on premium flour was due to a sizable price gap between 1st and 2nd grade wheat and flour.

11,996,000 tons of flour were produced in the 2006/2007 farming year, about 95% of it high-grade. Wheat flour accounted for 73% of the output, or 8,810,000 tons, including 5,135,700 tons of premium flour. Rye flour accounted for 8% or total output, or 913,400 tons. About 45% of flour was produced on commission basis.

During the previous farming year, exports of wheat flour exceeded imports by 103,500 tons, or 138,000 tons of wheat. 8,706,500 tons of wheat flour were sold in the domestic market. It took 11,606,000 tons of wheat to produce this amount of flour, and it took 1,050,000 tons of rye to produce last year's rye flour output.

The higher output of premium flour this farming year is due to a better quality of the raw material. This year, the mills have produced more flour according to GOST (National Standards). Moscow's mills, for instance, produce all their flour according to GOST. Wheat with 25% gluten content or higher is preferred.

This year, the harvest can easily cover flour producers' needs for premium wheat, especially since the flour output may be about to drop. An estimated 19 million tons of flour will be produced, and an estimated 11 million tons of grain will go into production.

The demand for hard wheat for pasta production stands at around 920,000 tons. It may be met with Siberian supplies or imports from Central Asia, for example, Kyrgyzstan, which grows prevalently hard wheat.

This farming year saw a major increase (by about 21%) in rye supply as a result of huge stocks of rye carried over from last year, and a higher gross harvest. This year's harvest has turned out to be really high quality. Eventually, the output of premium rye has increased at the expense of fodder rye.

The production target for rye flour is about 2 million tons in adjusted weight. The mills will need about 1,1 million tons of grain to produce this amount. This farming year, the price gap between premium, 1st grade and 2nd grade flour has been growing. The supply of premium wheat flour has increased due to better quality grain in this year's harvest. As a result, there has been less demand for 1st and 2nd grade flour, and their prices have dropped accordingly. This trend may persist until the end of the current farming year.
