2) The Murmansk Meat-Processing Plant

The Murmansk meat-processing plant was founded in 1936. It is one of the oldest enterprises of the city. It grew up together with a city, developed and changed during its long history.

The Murmansk meat-processing plant is one the biggest enterprises of the region. The productive capacity of it is 9150 tons of cooked meats and 2350 tons of meat semi-manufactured items.

There are 12 company shops in the all boroughs.

The manufacture of meat semi-manufactured items increased last year. The Murmansk meat-processing plant bought high-technology equipment. It produces more than 280 items of fresh high-quality and useful meat products from natural raw material, delivered by the pig-breeding farm.

The pig-breeding farm became the half of the meat-packing plant and this allowed creating closed technological cycle of manufacture of meat products. This cycle includes all stages from raising pigs to the realization of fresh cooled meat. Also the production involves processing meat for sausages.

At present day the Murmansk meat-processing plant supplies manufacture with proper raw material and this helps to provide people who live in Murmask with meat products of high quality.

The production of Murmansk meat-processing plant is various and includes different types of sausages such as dairy sausages, liver sausages, smoked sausage, and also bacon, cutlets, fillets, smoked ribs, and many other meat products.

The manufacture of sausages at the Murmansk meat-processing plant involves cutting the slaughtered animals, deboning, mincing the meat, salting, mincing with added spices, additives, and stabilizers. This manufacture demands high degree of chopping because the structure of sausage meat must be homogeneous. Chopped meat then is mixed and sent to the extrusion molding. Special machines – syringes, which pump mincemeat under pressure into the packings or forms are used for extrusion molding. The sausages are sent to the degasifying treatment after extrusion molding. Then degasified sausages are hung up. After this process this meat product is ready for consumption.

The Murmansk meat-processing plant makes specialty from the meat of the northern wild deer. The batches of these products sent to Moscow have become popular. It is hard to deal with deer's meat, but the Murmansk meat-processing plant tries to increase manufacture by using new technologies, resources, and equipment.

The Murmansk meat-processing plant opened new shop in 2006. They began to make new products of superior – class such as ham "Tambovsky", sausage "Iamskaia" from the natural liver and piglets.

Produce of the Murmansk meat-processing plant became the laureate of competition named "100 best goods of Russia" many times.

Meat delicatessens of the company Murmansk meat-processing plant made from pork, beef, and venison received the status "Novelty of the year" among the best Russian products in 2006.

The Murmansk meat-processing plant schedules stable growth of the production of meat products. The capacity of the cooked meats and semifinished articles will have grown in 3,3 and in 3,7 times by 2015.
