Looking for Names.

Forty years ago Gordon Alford was on holiday when he decided to ask some famous footballers for their signatures. Since that time he has collected 7000 autographs of famous people. He has special albums for them. Most of his autographs are from famous actors, musicians, athletes. Some autographs are worth a lot of money. For example, an autograph from any of "The Beatles" may cost as much as $1.500. The highest price anyone paid for an autograph is $ 1.320.000 which was for President Abraham Lincoln's signature. And the autograph that every collector would love to have is the signature of William Shakespeare, the famous English playwright who died in 1916. Photography as a Hobby.

I'd like to give you some advice about my hobby. I'm sure many of you already use a camera. But you can only call it your hobby if you do it all year. not just at weekends. It needn`t be an expensive hobby. Cheap cameras can take wonderful pictures. Buying, developing and printing film can cost a lot, so be careful you don’t overspent your budget. You will also need something to keep your photos in. You don’t need any special training to take successful photograph. But remember some simple rules. Don’t aim the camera into the sun. Make sure your subject fills the picture. Finally, hold the camera tight. Not all your pictures will be brilliant, but they will be special. They will also be wonderful memory when you get older.

Are You Completely Bananas?

Eccentric as it may seem the latest new hobby to catch on in Britain involves collecting the tiny sticky labels that come attached to bananas. And the world leader in the fast growing craze is a 52 – year old government officer from London called John Stather who has travelled round the world in search of unusual stickers. John first became interested in the hobby four years ago. While on a trip abroad, he promised he would collect any stickers he saw for a friend who had started to collect them. Suddenly he found himself getting hooked on the pastime too. John now has over one thousand different stickers and his collection is still growing.

Anyone who might be tempted to laugh at John should remember that his hobby is not expensive and he gets to eat lots of fruit in the process.
