2.2 Processing of the experimental results

1. Find the average current in three dimensions for each angle θ.

2. Determine for each angle a relationship:

where i_m – current galvanometer at θ = 0.

3. Plot the experimental curve I_i / I_o = fe (cos² θ).

4. Plot the theoretical curve I_i / I_o = f_T (cos² θ)

5. Compare the results of the experiment and theory and make conclusions on the implementation of the law of Malus. Theoretical curve is shown in Figure 3.14. On the validity of the law of Malus can be judged by how well the experimental points will lie on the theoretical relation (Figuree 3.14).
