The separation is carried out by means of electrodialysis involving ion exchange membranes (CM, AM) and membranes selective for multivalent anions (MVA) or cations.

The regulation of the electrodialysis is carried out by taking a sample of the diluted solution to the corresponding output (6), by measuring in a cell (12) the content of a predetermined ionic species of this sample, in particular free cyanide content, and controlling, through a unit (14), a pump (15) as a function of the content, so as to add to the input (5) of the electrodialysis a solution containing ionic species referred to above (free cyanide) in a quantity inverse function of the measured content. The method of the invention allows to eliminate the phenomena of blocking and electrodialysis membrane fouling.
