RULES AND REGULATIONS
Nowadays people mostly travel by air.
Passengers are requested to arrive at the airport one hour before departure time on international flights.
Passengers must register their tickets, weigh and register their luggage. The economy class limitation is 20 kg. First-class passengers are allowed 30 kg. Excess luggage must be paid for.
Passengers are permitted to take only some personal things with them into the cabin, such as handbags, umbrellas, coats and souvenirs bought at the tax-free shops at the airport.
Each passenger is given a boarding pass to be shown at the departure gate and again to the stewardess when boarding the plane.
Watch the electric sign flashes in the plane. When the “Fasten Seat Belts” sign goes on, do it promptly, and also obey the “No Smoking” signal.
The captain will welcome you on board, tell you all about the flight and the interesting places you are flying over.
Do not forget your personal things when leaving the plane.
PASSPORT AND CUSTOMS CONTROL
Landing formalities and customs regulations are about the same in all countries.
While still on board the plane the passenger is given an arrival card to fill in, he fills in (in block letters) his
name in full, country of residence, permanent address in the country he is visiting.
After the passenger has disembarked, the officials will examine his passport and visa.
When these formalities have been completed, the passenger goes to the Customs for an examination of his luggage.
The passenger is required to fill in a customs declaration form. He must list all dutiable articles.
Here is a partial list of prohibited articles: firearms, drugs, in some countries -meat products, fresh fruit and vegetables.
The Custom’s inspector may ask you to open your bags for inspection. After you are through with all customs formalities he will put a stamp on each piece of luggage.
DIFFERENT SERVICES AT THE AIRPORT
While you are delayed at the airport waiting for departure, you can make use of some services. Go to the Information Desk if you have any questions or problems. If you happen to lose something, the Lost and Found Office may help you. The quickest way to get a meal is to go to a snack bar. At a toilet you may wash your hands and put yourself in order. You may exchange your currency or break your large bills at the Currency Exchange Office.
