NOUN+S/ES
множественное число = существительное + s/es
В английском языке существительные имеют два числа: единственное (singular) и множественное (plural).
Например:
Форма единственного числа (Singular form).
Ex.: a dog, a cat, a car
Форма множественного числа (Plural form).
Ex.: dogs, cats, cars
1. после большинства согласных (кроме шипящих) -e и -y (после гласной) мн. число = существительное+ s
dog+dog= dogs car+car= cars plate+plate= plates

2. после - o, -y (после согласной); -x, -sh, -ss, ch, мн. число = существительное +es
box+box=boxes match+match=matches dress+dress=dresses potato+potato= potatoes tomato+tomato= tomatoes toe+toe= toes
При этом “y” меняется на “i” lily+lily=lilies city+city+ cities pony+ pony=ponies
Исключения: radio-radios, piano-pianos, photo-photos, video-videos, hippo – hippos, kangaroo – kangaroos
