Past Simple
We use the past simple to talk about things in the past that we see as completed. We often use time expressions with the past simple to make it clear we are talking about the completed past: last, ago, yesterday, in (2000) and others. We can use the past simple to talk about things that happened once, over a longer period of time or happened a lot in the past.
