The smaller servomotors now available 1) ________ gearheads to operate at higher speeds, making vibrations more likely. Inadvertent misalignment between servomotors and gearboxes, which often occurs during 2) ________, is a common source of vibration. The mounting of conventional motors with gearboxes requires several precise connections. The output 3) ________ of the motor must be attached to the pinion gear that slips into a set of planetary gears in the end of the gearbox, and an adapter plate must joint the motor to the gearbox. Unfortunately, each of these connections can introduce slight alignment errors that 4) ________ to cause overall motor/gearbox misalignment. The pinion is the key to 5) ________ operation because it must be aligned exactly with the motor shaft and gearbox. Until recently it has been standard practice to mount pinions in the field when the motors were connected to the gearboxes. This procedure often caused the assembly to vibrate. Engineers realized that the integration of gearheads into the 6) ________ package would solve this problem, but the drawback to the integrated 7) ______ is that failure of either component would require replacement of the whole unit.
Task 14. Read and find mistakes in the following paragraph and correct them.
However, the factory-installed pinion requires a floatings bearing to support the shaft with a pinion on one end. The Bayside Motion Group of Bayside Controls Inc., Port Washington, New York, developed a self-aligning bearing for this purpose. Bayside gearheads with theese pinions is rated for input speeds up to 5000 rpm. A collar on the pinion shaft's other end mounts to the motor shaft. The bearing holds the pinion in place until it is mounted. At thet time a pair of bearings in the servomotor support the coupled shaft. The self-aligning feature of the floating bearing lets the motor bearing support the shaft after installation.

Point-to-point positioning can be performed in single-1) ________ or multiaxis systems with servomotors in closed loops or stepping motors in 2) ________ loops. X- Y tables and milling machines position their loads by multi-axis point-to-point control. Sequencing control is the control of such functions as opening and 3) ________ valves in a preset sequence or starting and stopping a conveyor 4) ________ at specified stations in a specific order. Speed control is the control of the velocity of the motor or actuator in a 5) ________ . Torque control is the control of motor or actuator current so that torque remains constant despite load changes. Incremental motion control is the simultaneous control of two or more 6) ________ such as load location, motor speed, or torque.

1.Introduction ( In this part you generate ideas about the topic to be
developed and introduce the problem with some comments. The introductory paragraph should capture the interest of the readers and the main statement should come at the end of the paragraph.).
2.Development (The main part presents, describes, explains, defines,
analyses, exemplifies, classifies or discusses the controlling ideas avoiding repetition and using the structure as follows – main idea + some examples with supporting details. This part is longer than the introduction.).
3.Conclusion (In the final paragraph there is a summary of the main points
given above with your own opinion and decisions. We can use some techniques to conclude our essay, i.e. – summaries ideas, make a prediction, ask a question or suggest a solution).
An internal part of the writing process is ending.it is an important kind of
activity to reveal weaknesses and eliminate them. When ending read your essay slowly aloud because your mistakes are easily heard than seen, so read aloud with the exact emphasis. During the first reading analyze the structure of the article and while reading for the second time follow how controlling ideas are being developed by using grammatical structures.
Task 17. Watch the video file “What Is a Servomotor”. Write a short review (100 words) on servomotors. Use the information below.
Basically, the hallmark of any servomotor is the presence of feedback and closed-loop control. Servomotors are able to provide precise control of torque, speed or position using closed-loop feedback. They can also operate at zero speed while maintaining enough torque to maintain a load in a given position. Servomotors have several distinct advantages over other types of motors. For starters, they offer more precise control of motion. This means they can accommodate complex motion patterns and profiles more readily. Also, because the level of precision offered is high, the position error is greatly reduced.
