Why do people go in for sports?
People can’t do without sports. They go in for sports on different reasons. First of all sport helps us to keep fit and to be healthy. It makes people strong and fast. Then, it builds our character, it teaches us to win and to lose, to overcome difficulties. It makes us more organized and better disciplined in our daily activities. Besides it is a good way to spend your free time and to make new friends.
Are all sports good for us? Why/Why not?
Some people say that doing sports is not always useful because it takes a lot of energy and time. Doing some sports people can have injuries. I agree that some sports are dangerous, for example, some extreme sports. Doing professional sports is not an easy job because you have to train all day long and follow a special diet, which is not healthy. However, if you do sports to keep fit and healthy, then sport is useful. It’s a real pleasure to go jogging in the morning or do fitness. It is not necessary to be a professional sportsman to be healthy.
What sports do you enjoy doing and why?
As for me, I realize that it is necessary to do sports as I am very busy at school and lead a sedentary way of life sitting long hours at the computer. I enjoy different sports such as……… but best of all I love…… because it is a good exercise for the whole body. It helps me to stay in good shape, to keep fit and to be healthy. This sport is not so difficult to learn and it gives me much pleasure to do it together with my friends. It teaches me to achieve my goals and to be organized and self-confident. I am trying to be successful in it.
Which do you prefer: to do sports or to watch them on TV?
I like going in for sports but it is impossible to try all kinds. That’s why I like to watch sports programmes on TV. When I follow sport events I expand my outlook, learn some new facts about it and about sportsmen because commentators give us a lot of information about matches and games. I enjoy watching different competitions of my favourite team. I am a ….. fan. I always support it. But still doing sports and watching them on TV are different things.
