Введение

Настоящее методическое пособие предназначено для студентов заочного отделения ПГАТИ.

Цель пособия – формирование у студентов навыков и умения чтения, понимания и перевода как научно-технической литературы по специальностям 200700, 200900, 201000, 220400, 351400, так и текстов страноведческого характера.

Структура методического пособия.

Данное методическое пособие состоит из 2 частей:

1. Grammar Review.

2. Reading Practice.

Первая часть пособия предназначена для самостоятельного изучения или повторения того или иного грамматического явления и выполнения контрольных работ №1,2 в соответствии с программой по иностранным языкам для вузов неязыковых специальностей заочного отделения.

Студентам предоставляется возможность познакомиться с рядом грамматических явлений с помощью таблиц и закрепить полученные навыки в ряде тренировочных упражнений и текстов.

Вторая часть пособия предназначена как для самостоятельной, так и для аудиторной работы. В этой части предусмотрено постепенное усложнение языкового материала текстов. Для контроля понимания текстов составлены вопросы.

Подбор грамматического и текстового материала разного уровня сложности позволяет осуществлять самостоятельную работу студентов и индивидуальный контроль преподавателя на занятиях.

Данное пособие может быть использовано и на аудиторных занятиях со студентами заочного отделения ускоренной подготовки 3 и 4 курсов.

Упражнение 1 Образуйте степени сравнения следующих прилагательных.

The Americans are very 1 (proud) of their country. Some say the Americans are 6 (loud), 7 (rich) and 8 (noisy) than any other nationality.

Other British people think there are lots of 9 (good) things about the USA like Hollywood, jazz and Superman.

It is true that most American skyscrapers are 10 (tall) than buildings in the UK, but the British think their state homes are 11 (old) and 12 (beautiful) than anything in the USA. The American like coke and hamburgers-people in the UK think British food is much 13 (healthy). Clothes are 14 (cheap) in the USA, but fashion design in the UK is 15 (good) than design in the USA.
