Conclusion

For summarizing we should remember the purpose and the main objectives of this essay. The purpose of the essay was studying of essence of engineering industry, the branch structure of mechanical engineering and groups of fields in engineering. Also we considered the machine-building complex of Ukraine, its advantages and disadvantages.

In this essay we considered such tasks:

– to study the essence of engineering industry;

– to observe branch structure of mechanical engineering;

– to know groups of fields in engineering;

– to investigate the machine-building complex of Ukraine;

– to determine its peculiarities;

– to consider prospects of development of machine-building complex of Ukraine.

Let's remember basic provisions of our research.

Engineering industry is the set of industries that manufacture machinery and equipment for all sectors of the economy, as well as household appliances. The branch structure of mechanical engineering is very difficult. It consists more than of 70 branches. Groups of fields in engineering: heavy industry, general industry, medium industry and precision industry.

Heavy machinery – is a set of subsectors of engineering, in which enterprises are engaged in the production of metallurgical, mining, and large metal-forming, crushing and grinding, materials handling equipment and large diesel engines, rotor systems. The most important centers of production of heavy machines and forge-and-press equipment are: Kramatorsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kriviy Rig, Marganez.

The general mechanical engineering is presented by transport mechanical engineering (railway, shipbuilding, aviation, the space-rocket industry, but without automotive industry), agricultural, production of processing equipment for various industries. Building of the ships is made in Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kerch. The aircraft industry is concentrated in Kiev, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia. Plants which produce rockets in Ukraine are in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv.

The medium mechanical engineering gives 15 % of products of branch. The enterprises are notable for small metal consumption, labor input and production capital intensity. They are most numerous, highly tailored, have wide communications in cooperation. The enterprises which are letting out cars, planes, metal-cutting machines, tractors, processing equipment for the light, food, printing and medical industry belong to medium engineering. Centers - Kharkiv, Kiev. Odessa, Cherkassy, Kramatorsk etc.

Leading branches of precision mechanical engineering — instrumentation, radio engineering and electronic mechanical engineering, the electrotechnical industry. Production of branches of this group is exclusively various — these are optical devices, personal computers, radio-electronic equipment, aviation devices, fiber optics, lasers and completing elements, watches. Centers - Donetsk, Odessa, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Kiev etc.
