4. Using prefixes - 3

1. Work in pairs. Prefixes can be used with words to change their meaning. Look at the words in italic. What do they mean?

1. Is 'the' the indefinite article or the definite article?

2. You'll certainly lose marks in the exam if your handwriting is illegible. And. untidy work may also lose marks.

3. Make sure the information you give is relevant to the question. Again, irrelevant information may lose you marks.

4. The children were told not to misbehave but they disobeyed our instructions.

5. The students at the university called for a non-violent demonstration to express their disapproval of the government's education policy.

6. It took us ever such a long time to wrap your present nicely but you've unwrapped it without even admiring the paper.
