Контрольная работа № 3

VARIANT №1

Для правильного выполнения контрольной работы № 3 необходимо усвоить следующий грамматический материал:

  1. Видовременные формы в страдательном залоге (группы Indefinite, Continuous, Perfect).

  2. Особенности перевода страдательных оборотов.

  3. Неличные формы глагола (Infinitive, Participle I, Participle II, Gerund) и их функции в предложении.

Вариант 1

  1. Прочитайте текст и письменно переведите на русский язык. Выпишите из текста неличные формы глагола и назовите их. Определите видовременные формы и залог выделенных глаголов.

Advertising

Businesses need to advertise. If they do not advertise no one will even learn of the existence (существование) of their products (товары). In part, advertising is aimed at conveying information to potential customers and clients, but it is also used to persuade the public to buy the product or service. This is the area in which advertising is often criticized. Advertisements are sometimes misleading. Although it is illegal for advertisers to make untrue statements about their goods, services or prices, they still make their wares seem unduly (незаконно) attractive. They create a demand which would not otherwise exist.

It is easy to say, «I'm not influenced by the adverts!». Everyone is influenced to a certain extent.

Lots of people pretend that they never read advertisements, but this claim may be seriously doubted. It is hardly possible not to read advertisements these days. An alternative to advertising would be (было бы) to lower prices when sales fall. This will suit the consumer but introduce many problems for the producer.

Some people say that advertising actually enriches our lives.

American retailers (розничный торговец) have targeted (отнести/выделить) children as a new consumer group spending annually (ежегодно) about $82 billion. These statistics have encouraged companies to give products new life by marketing them to kid audience. Some advertising companies even hired child psychologists to understand their market better. Nowadays marketing for children is thriving.

II. Перепишите и переведите следующие предложения.

Подчеркните инфинитив, определите его форму и функцию.

1. Faulty products are divided into those to be discarded (браковать; выбрасывать за ненадобностью) and those to be reworked.

2. She was the first to come.

3. The boss is planning to go on a business trip.

6. The advertisements are big and well-designed in order to be seen and understood.

III. Перепишите и переведите следующие предложения. Подчеркните неличные формы глагола, определите их форму и функцию.

  1. The control of quality consists of finding a new supplier or overhauling a worn machine.

  2. Finding and keeping of good employees is not easy.

  3. We try to stay competitive by investing heavily in advertising and promotion.

  4. We have made a mistake of buying this car.

  5. Before asking a bank manager for money it is wise to show him your business plan.

6. Consumers are tempted (соблазняются, искушаются) to spend money for products they do not really need. They should think before buying something.
