Времена группы Continuous (Progressive) Настоящее длительное время Present Continuous (Progressive) Tense

Образование: формы глагола “to be” в настоящем времени (am, is are) + глагол с окончанием -ing (am/is/are Ving) – am/is/are working.

Для образования вопросительных и отрицательных форм используются формы глагола “to be” – am, is, are.

Показатели времени Present Continuous (Progressive): now, at this moment, still.

Positive Form

Negative Form

General Question

I am working in the lab now.

He is working in the lab now.

They are working in the lab now

I am not working in the lab now.

He is not working in the lab now.

They are not working in the lab now

Am I working in the lab now?

Is he working in the lab now?

Are they working in the lab now?

Общий вопрос (General Question) требует краткого ответа:

  • Is he working in the lab now? – Yes, he is/No, he isn’t.

Разделительный вопрос (Disjunctive Question):

  • He is still working in the lab, isn’t he?

  • He isn’t working in the lab now, is he?

Специальный вопрос (Special Question):

Порядок слов:

1) вопросительное слово,

2) вспомогательный глагол (am, is, are),

3) подлежащее,

4) основной (смысловой) глагол.

  • Where is he working now?

Вопрос к подлежащему задается в 3 л. в ед. ч.:

  • Who is working in the garden now?

The Present Continuous (Progressive) Tense употребляется:

1. Для выражения длительного действия, совершающегося в момент речи.

  • He is writing a letter now.

  • Don’t make a noise, she is sleeping.

2. Для выражения длительного действия, совершающегося в настоящий период времени, хотя и не обязательно в момент речи.

  • He is building a new house.

3. Для обозначения действия в будущем, когда выражается намерение совершить действие или когда речь идет о заранее намеченном действии.

  • What are you doing tonight? – I’m meeting my sister.
