§ 15. Причастие
Present Participle и Past Participle могут входить в состав сказуемого, но могут употребляться и самостоятельно, тогда они являются либо определением, либо обстоятельством в зависимости от того места, которое они занимают в предложении.

§ 16. Независимый причастный оборот
Выделяется запятой, в начале предложения переводится придаточным обстоятельственным предложением с союзами так как, когда, после того как, если. В конце предложения после запятой переводится либо без союза, либо с союзами и, а, при этом, причем.
The test having been finished, they went away. Т.к. проверка была закончена, они ушли.
Money has some functions, exchange being the principal. Деньги имеют ряд функций, (причем) главной является обмен.
§ 17. Герундий
Имеет окончание -ing. В русском языке подобной формы нет, поэтому может переводиться в зависимости от контекста:

существительным, неопределенной формой глагола, деепричастием или придаточным предложением.
Labour productivity was increased by introducing new machinery. Производительность труда была увеличена путем внедрения новой техники.
§ 18. Формы с окончанием -ing
Причастие настоящего времени (§ 15), Герундий (§ 17) и Отглагольное существительное, которое переводиться существительным.
§ 19. Инфинитив
Неопределенная форма глагола с частицей «to» имеет простые и сложные формы, может быть любым членом предложения в зависимости от занимаемого места. В начале и в конце предложения инфинитив является обстоятельством (иногда с союзом in order).
(In order) to create jobs for young people the government allocated additional means. — Чтобы создать рабочие места для молодежи, правительство разместило дополнительные средства.
Инфинитив, стоящий после существительного, может быть определением.
The GNP is an important characteristic to be considered in determining living standards. ВВП — важная характеристика, которая должна (будет) приниматься во внимание при определении уровня жизни.
§ 20. Инфинитивный оборот «Complex Оbject»
Переводиться П-С-Д + инфинитив (подлежащее – сказуемое – дополнение)
Придаточным дополнительным предложением с союзами что, чтобы, как по схеме:
We know him to have gone to Tula.
Мы знаем, что он уехал в Тулу.
He saw her write a report (частица «to» перед инфинитивом опускается, если сказуемое выражено глаголами: see, hear, feel).

§ 21. Инфинитивный оборот «Complex Subject» П-С + инфинитив
Переводиться придаточным дополнительным предложением с безличным главным, при этом сказуемое может быть в действительном или страдательном залогах.
