1. Read the article without a dictionary, try to retell it. Word origin company: eats bread with you

The term company cor responds to companion and this in turn derives from the Latin words cum, «with», and panis, «bread». A companion, then, is one who eats bread with you, a «messmate», and when you have company at your house they share your hospitality. In its business use the romantic associations of the word company drained off.

2. Read and translate the proverbs, think of Russian equivalents, give a situation using them.

Don’t miss all expressions you can hear in films, on TV and radio and every where you can hear native speakers speak natural English.

Don’t rely on your books as the only way of learning English. You need to read as much as possible, listen to as much as possible. Go online and read some blogs, listen to music, make some friends.
