Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
How to Study for The GMAT
The key here is to familiarize yourself with the topics mentioned above and
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!
I recommend a non-GMAT math book to start with to get a proper grounding on the math syllabus required. This type of book will teach you how to approach the topics properly – most GMAT math books concentrate on tips and tricks, rather than full understanding. I used Foundation Math by Croft and Davidson and can fully recommend it.
The same principle holds true for the verbal section. First try some example questions. Then, based on your scores, decide whether you need an extensive grammar review to help you with these questions, or that you just need a little more practice. There are a variety of courses that can help as well as test taking strategies available in the Resources section of this Cramsession.
Once you feel that you have mastered the basics, move on to using your new knowledge specifically for GMAT preparation. That means answering as many practice questions as possible and reviewing areas that you are weak in.
Use the resources section of this Cramsession to find practice questions - and remember that there is no such thing as too many! Do at least two full practice GMATs - this is important since it will help you judge the speed and stamina required on test day.
Example Questions
Many example questions are available from the websites mentioned in the Resources section of this Cramsession. The best place for sheer numbers of questions is The Official Guide for GMAT Review published by ETS - there are over 1400 hundred actual GMAT questions supplied with this product.
